Following a woman through the course of a day, the project explores everyday rituals of preparation and withdrawal that shape our relationship with the social world. From beauty routines and moments of self-observation to rest and solitude, these seemingly ordinary gestures mark the transitions between our public and private selves.
The title Persona refers to the Latin word for a theatrical mask, historically associated with the roles performed by actors on stage. The beauty mask becomes a starting point for exploring how everyday rituals of self-care and preparation transform us into the social personas we present to the world. These repeated gestures are not merely personal habits, but social rituals through which we prepare to be seen, adopt certain appearances and step into the roles expected of us. Through reflections, repeated gestures and quiet moments, the work explores the subtle boundary between who we are in private and who we become in the presence of others.
