Feral Relic
Solo exhibition in collaboration with F.Relic
Fabula Gallery, Moscow, 2021
Feral Relic is a photographic project by Marie Lourier developed in collaboration with the jewellery brand F.Relic and presented at Fabula Gallery in 2021. The exhibition featured a series of works created through an ongoing dialogue between photography, material objects, and tactile forms.

The project was partly inspired by a journey to Dagestan, where the artists encountered ancient stone anchors in the fortress of Derbent. These objects — once functional, now detached from their original purpose — became a starting point for reflecting on memory, transformation, and the shifting meaning of form. This reference informed both the visual language of the project and its conceptual framework.

Within the exhibition, Lourier’s photographic works explored the instability of the female image, examining how it is shaped, perceived, and reinterpreted over time. Through the use of organic materials, surface textures, and staged compositions, the works engaged with ideas of fragility, erosion, and constructed identity.

Developed in close collaboration with F.Relic, the project brought together photography and handcrafted objects into a shared visual environment. Rather than functioning as documentation, the images operate as independent works, expanding the narrative of the objects and placing them within a broader artistic context.

The exhibition was presented as a spatial installation, where the arrangement of works, light, and material details created a cohesive and immersive experience. The opening at Fabula Gallery brought together a group of artists and collaborators, including Biketova, Liza Mikh, Mr1ya, Ilya Marvel, and Skin Hunter, reflecting the collective and process-driven nature of the project.
